May 26th, 2007: with the help of family, friends and sponsors, Brian McCandless (a Cystic Fibrosis patient) overcame all odds and completed a 2,045 mile, 26 day cycling tour called Brian’s Ride.  Starting in Pittsburgh , PA , Brian cycled 100 miles a day to Tallahassee , FL.   He rested for two days before completing the return trip back to PA.  Because of the tremendous support he received, Brian and his team was pleased to present a check of $14,000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for research.

June 12th, 2008:  Brian started another Cycling trip. Kicking off with all of his supporters in Slippery Rock, PA, Brian cycled the mountainous terrain to Harpswell , ME. Ounce in ME, he cycled through the east coast cities back to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania . This trip was 30 days long and was just shy of 2,000 miles.

Brian was accompanied by a support van driven by his cousin Jake and his girlfriend Emily.  this support van helped to carry gear and ensure safety.  Brian and his team stay in hotels, churches and individuals homes along the way that volunteer to have them for the night.

Not only does Brian's Ride raise money for research but it has make more people aware of this generally unknown disease and helps to give hope to children who have CF.
